AirWay now offers Badu’s WarpEngine™ with Ericsson, Nokia, and ZTE cell site infrastructure, boosting LTE and 5G performance by 3X
IRVINE, CA and HEBRON, KY – October 22, 2019 – Badu Networks, the leader in next generation optimization for WAN, Wi-Fi and mobile networks, has partnered with global wireless infrastructure provider AirWay Technologies to dramatically improve LTE network performance and utilization, and deliver the same benefits for 5G. AirWay customers can now deploy Badu Networks’ patented breakthrough WarpEngine™ technology at their cell tower base stations to boost LTE network performance and throughput by 3x or more, without the massive expense and disruption of upgrading backhaul and other cell site infrastructure. Similar results have been seen in early 5G network testing, indicating that WarpEngine™ also has the potential to dramatically reduce the cost of 5G deployments.
WarpEngine™ achieves these impressive results for all types of traffic – encrypted, unencrypted or compressed, by algorithmically filtering out the impact of mobile network jitter caused by RF interference, fading and channel access conflict. Today’s streaming video and web applications transmit data in unpredictable bursts, adding more jitter. Jitter leads to throughput collapse, resulting in poor call quality, video that randomly pauses, stalled applications and dropped connections, even when plenty of bandwidth is available. This means that in addition to a subpar user experience, network capacity is underutilized. As a result, without WarpEngine carriers get far less than a full return on investment from their existing LTE infrastructure, as they face the enormous cost of rolling out 5G. Due to their shorter cell signal range and higher frequencies, 5G networks are likely to be more jitter-prone than LTE, making the need for WarpEngine even greater.
“WarpEngine offers a bridge to 5G that allows wireless carriers to control the timing and cost of their roll out, while enabling them to dramatically improve service and maximize ROI from their existing LTE networks,” said Lou Tomasetti, AirWay’s Vice President of Business Development. “With our expertise in delivering world-class wireless network infrastructure and WarpEngine’s proven optimization technology, we are confident this new partnership will be a big win for our customers.”
